December 2014
As 2014 comes to a close and we ring in the new year, we would like to take the time to both count our blessings and wish all of our friends in Israel and around the world a meaningful holiday season and a wonderful new year.
Here at Ariela, a new chapter now begins -- in just two short weeks we move to what is both our new farm and our dream home at Moshav HaYogev. We are inspired by the peacefulness and natural beauty of the Jezreel Valley, as well as the rich history of this region. We are extremely grateful that our little family enjoys good health and we have continued delight in the daily joys of raising our four year old son Daniel.
We also take great delight in many of the foals born over the past few years, some of whom we believe will soon play key roles in our program. And finally we could not be prouder of the accomplishments of the two Laheeb daughters that competed at this year's World Championships in Paris and brought home Silver and Bronze medals for their owners. None of this could have happened without the help and support we receive on a continual basis from our families, our dedicated staff, and our good friends, including many of you, who gave of your support either from afar or simply pitched in and gave us a helping hand to keep everything running smoothly at the farm and at the shows while we were busy overseeing the building of our new farm over this entire year.
We would like to thank everyone who showed their support with a good word, phone calls, 'likes' and shares on Facebook, and in so many other ways. We are truly blessed with so many good friends and with so many good people around us. We want to thank all of you, wish all of you an extraordinary new year, and extend a warm invitation to come and visit us soon at HaYogev.

During the 34th Israeli National Championship Show, our homebred senior stallion Al Maraam (Imperial Imdal x The Vision HG) was awarded with the very prestigious WAHO Trophy. This exclusive award is given every year to horses who have earned special life achievements; each WAHO member country awards one to a horse bred in its own country. WAHO has requested that each country's awards committee should look for an Arabian horse which has in some way been an excellent “ambassador” for the breed, and we are very proud that our Al Maraam is seen in such a way.

For years Arlene Magid, the internationally respected Arabian historian, researcher, and bloodline expert has helped to educate the Arabian public through her Facebook pages about Arabian horses, influential bloodlines, and the significance of major show results. Typically she does a unique real-time coverage of the most important Arabian shows held worldwide via Facebook, in which she generously shares her knowledge and analyzes the deeper significance of the show results and makes them more meaningful for us by putting them in larger historical perspective.
Arlene recently published a post in which she analyzed which stallions had the greatest influence and sired the most champions at this year's prestigious All Nations Cup Show held in Aachen last month. Her research revealed that the leading sire of champions at Aachen this year was World Champion Stallion QR Marc, with three champions to his credit. Following him were the stallions who sired two champion at this show. These stallions included Marwan Al Shaqab, Kahil Al Shaqab and our own homebred Straight Egyptian stallion Laheeb!!!!
Such a great honor to be part of this lineup of some of the world's best breeding stallions!
Thank you, Arlene, both for your very important work, and for making us proud!

We are very sad at Ariela Arabians to hear of the passing of the beautiful straight Egyptian stallion, Nader El Jamal. We were very fortunate to have Nader here with us for a few years until his final departure in January 2012. Not only did he leave us with some beautiful sons and daughters but we enjoyed very much his playful and charismatic personality. Nader was a very special horse. Our condolences go out to his owners and his breeders as we know they must be heartbroken as we certainly are. Goodbye Nader El Jamal and may your spirit live on through your beautiful children.

Today, the 17th of February 2014, the queen of our farm, *The Vision HG , is 20 years old! The Vision was bred by the US breeder Marilynn Geurin. We first met The Vision in the spring of 1995 during the Egyptian Event in Lexington, Kentucky, while she was under the wonderful care of Steve Dady, and we made the decision to buy her on the spot. It was love at first sight, and the rest is now history.... Shortly after her purchase, The Vision made her trans-atlantic trip to Israel in the companionship one of our other mares (Imperial Im Tiarah). It didn't seem to take very long before we recognized that VIsion had already made herself the heart and soul of our program. Over the years this magical black mare was shown many times and was named 1996 - Middle East Reserve Junior Champion Filly and Most Classic Head winner, 1996 Israeli National Champion Filly and Most Classic Head winner, 1998 Israeli National Champion Mare and 1999 Israeli National Champion Mare. In 2007 The Vision finished her show career by taking part in Israel's annual Egyptian Event where she won the title of Gold Champion Mare.
Over the years The Vision become not only our own most important broodmare but has also been recognized as one of the world’s best-producing mares. Today her descendants can be found in all parts of the world. Among her best progeny are the All Nations Cup Reserve Champion colt Al Maraam (by Imperial Imdal), All Nations Cup, European Champion, World Champion and Dubai Champion Al Lahab (by Laheeb), Israeli Egyptian Event Gold Champion Al Halah AA (by Laheeb), Israeli National Champion & Egyptian Event Champion Al Hadiyah AA (by Laheeb), US Egyptian Event Supreme Champion Al Raheb AA (by Laheeb) and Dubai Gold Champion & Egyptian Event Europe Gold Champion Al Ayal AA (by *Al Ayad). One more of The Vision’s jewels will soon be present to the world. We have named him Al Ghazali AA and he is sired by the World Champion stallion Gazal Al Shaqab.
On this memorable day we wish to thank all the people who have taken part and played a role in The Vision's life; including her breeder, her devoted veterinarians, her trainers and handlers, her many admirers, and most importantly the people on our farm staff who have taken daily care of her and loved her so very well over so many years. Our twenty years with The Vision have passed amazingly fast. We are so very grateful for having had the privilege of knowing and loving this once-in-a-lifetime mare. Our birthday wish for our regal black jewel is that we continue to celebrate many more such birthdays together, and that she and her progeny will continue to reign at Ariela.

We are very excited to announce that *Ansata Nile Pharoah (Ansata Imhotep x Ansata Misty Nile by Ansata Hejazi), bred by the world famous Ansata Arabians - USA and proudly owned by Rhodium Arabian Stud in New Zealand, will be standing at stud at our farm during the 2014 and 2015 breeding seasons.
Ansata Nile Pharoah is by the US Egyptian Event Supreme Champion Stallion Ansata Iemhotep, a full brother to World Reserve Champion & European Champion Stallion Ansata Sinan. Pharoah traces from both sire and dam female lines to the very important Egyptian foundation mare Sabah and carries a close up cross to the valuable international sire, Ansata Hejazi. Pharoah carries the some dam line as our foundation mare Imperial ImTiarah (Ansata Imperial x Imperial Mistry), a mare on whom we set high hopes who was lost way too early.
After his export to New Zealand, Nile Pharoah was named 2010 New Zealand Reserve National Champion stallion, 2010 North Island Champion stallion and Supreme Champion, and 2011 New Zealand National Champion Senior Stallion. One of his SE daughters; RNZ Flos Ferri (out of Simeon Sukar) was named 2011 New Zealand Reserve National Champion Filly. Ansata Nile Pharoah will be an important source of outcross blood for our mares and will offer an exciting new opportunity for Israeli breeders who wish to infuse this proven blood into their own programs.
We wish to thank Mr. Fanus Crous, owner of Rhodium Arabians Stud for making this wonderful opportunity possible and to Mr. Joe Polo for helping to make this dream come true. Please enjoy these photos from New Zealand. We promise to share new photos as soon as Pharoah has completely recovered from his long journey and settled into his new home.

The very rare Hilal el Dine AA (Salaa El Dine x Al Halah AA by Laheeb), will also stand at stud this year. Hilal's dam, Al Halah AA, is the only full sister to World Champion Al Lahab, and his sire is the world famous Katharinenhof's bred stallion Salaa El Dine (Ansata Halim Shah x Hanan). and we are intrigued with his very special pedigree and the genetic potential of blending our and Dr. Nagel's bloodlines. Hilal is on lease to Mohammad Najemi from Ebelin, located in Israel's north.

Shams Sharav AA (*Simeon Sharav x *Saniyyah RCA by Mishaal HP), is our very special two year old colt who will cover his first mare in 2014. In many ways Shams Sharav typifies the special look of both his sire Sharav and grand sire Asfour, with his exceptionally expressive eyes, sculpted ears and his wonderful presence and charisma. We believe this colt will add an exciting new dimension to our stallion battery.

Al Ayal AA (*Al Ayad x *The Vision HG) has a stunning future ahead of him as a major breeding stallion after competing successfully in prestigious halter competitions on the European and Middle Eastern show circuits over the past several years. His first foals, born overseas, have proven very competitive in foreign show rings, and his 2013 Israeli foal crop has done much the same here at home and looks extremely promising. Al Ayal is a horse of extreme type and quality, and has the prepotence to pass on his exotic looks and great refinement to his foals.
