We are happy to announce that the famous international sire Simeon Sharav (Asfour x Simeon Shuala) safely arrived in Israel yesterday. And now, on a more personal note, we would like to stop and count our blessings. We have been extremely blessed, because, as many of you know, the past month has been both wonderful and very difficult for us. Our long-awaited first born son, Daniel, was recently born after some complications, and during the busiest season of the year.
We want to take this opportunity to express some private words of thanks; even now its hard to imagine all the help and strong support we received from our families and many of our good friends, including many of you, both from Israel and abroad, who simply pitched in and gave us a helping hand to keep the farm running smoothly throughout this time; contributing your own free time, and taking away time from your family time or work.
We would like to thank everyone who showed their support with a good word, phone calls, and offers of help... we are so grateful for your offers and truly appreciate the support and affection so freely given. We are blessed with so many good friends and with so many good people around us. We want to thank all of you and to say we will never ever, forget it!

The last foal of the year was born a few days ago; a very dark grey colt out of Dr. Nagel's legendary stallion Salaa el Dine (Ansata Halim Shah x Hanan), out of Al Halah AA. Salaa el Dine who passed away five years ago, was one of our all time favorite stallions. We always hoped to add more of his blood to our program, and would like to thank Dr. Nagel for allowing us to use Salaa el Dine's frozen semen.
We have named our colt Hilal el Dine AA and, because of his unique pedigree, we hope that he will one day be an important stallion for our breeding program and will grow up to have a great future.

We were very sorry to learn about the passing of Mrs. Barbara Griffith, the founder and owner of the Imperial Egyptian Stud. Some of the horses that Mrs. Griffith bred at Imperial over the years took a significant part in the foundation of our breeding program; including such great horses as Imperial Imdal, Imperial Kalatifa, Imperial ImPhayana, Imperial Imtiarah and Imperial Naffata.
With Mrs. Barbara Griffith's passing, it seems that the final door has closed on a beautiful chapter of Egyptian Arabian horse breeding. She will be remembered as a true breeder and lover of Egyptian Horses.

We wish to congratulate Shlomi Zahir and Magal Arabians for taking home this year's WAHO Cup award which was presented during our National show to their home-bred Sabra Dahir (Baahir x Dany). Sabra Dahir is a very beautiful and exotic bay 16 year old mare; one of the first Israeli born foals sired by our former stallion Baahir (Ibn El Mareekh x GF Nasra Bataa). She was shown successfully at local Israeli competitions as a younger mare, and for the last few years has been doing an extraordinary job as a theraputic mare at Magal's theraputic riding center, serving the needs of special-needs children and youth. Congratulations on this beautiful mare who is an excellent ambassador of the Arabian breed, exemplifying not only the Arabian horse's beauty, but also its trainability, intelligence, gentleness, and willingness to serve.

Today, Al Maraam will begin his journey to the land of the pharaohs, which is also the land of his ancestors - ancient Egypt. At the start of his journey Maraam will stand for one month at Frank Sponle's Stables in Germany, and from there he will continue on to Egypt where he will stand at the world famous Al Badeia Stud. Al Badeia was established 75 years ago by the Marei family, and was Egypt's first privately-owned Arabian Stud; today it can claim to be the longest operating privately-owned straight Egyptian breeding programs anywhere in the world.

Congratulations to Ajman Stud for breeding this beautiful Straight Egyptian filly. This filly's pedigree is very rare, as she is one of a very few foals left in Europe by the late German bred stallion Al Ayad, who died tragically last year, and out of our home-bred Loubna, one of the world's most successful show mares. Loubna's achievements include the following: Middle East Championship, All Nations Cup Championship, European Championship, Dubai International Show Championship, Reserve World Champion And World Champion Mare.
We look forward to seeing this filly fulfill her noble promise and continue the legacy and wish Ajman Stud all the best with her.

We are happy to welcome the newest addition to our broodmare band, the US bred mare JPJ Talsasha (MB Talman x Mariyah). Talsasha was bred by Jeff Jorgenson of JPJ Rockies Ranch and she is owned in partnership with our friend Mani Aboudi. She is a great granddaughter of our early foundation broodmare Maar Bilahh, whom we lost last December, and we believe that introducing Talsasha into our breeding program is a great way to continue Maar Bilahh's legacy at Ariela.

With great pleasure we welcome Al Maraam back to his homeland. It has been over three years since Al Maraam left us and went first to the Michalow Stud in Poland and later to Furioso Farm in the USA. He has been sorely missed here at our stables. For now he is back home, but not for long; at the end of the summer he will leave once again, this time to Nasr Marei's world famous Al Badeia Stud, in Egypt.
We wish to thank Raymond Mazzei and Manny Vierra for taking such wonderful care of Al Maraam during his stay in America and for sending him back home in such great condition.

We are pleased to announce that a major feature relating the story of our homebred stallion Laheeb appears in the latest issue (No. 17) of the elegant Desert Heritage magazine published by Alim Editrice in Italy. The author of the story is our close friend Tzviah Idan of Idan Atiq Arabian Stud who is both a great fan of Laheeb and a gifted writer. We would like to thank Tzviah for all the hard work she invested in writing this informative feature and Alim Editrice for the beautiful job they did on the actual presentation and layout.

We are pleased to inform that the world famous Polish state farm, Janow Podlaski, is leasing one of our most promising home-bred colts. Abyad AA (Nader Al Jamal x Al Amal AA by Halim Shah I) will stand at Janow Podlaski for the next three years and will be used as an outcross for the stud's mares. We would like to congratulate Mr. Marek Trela, the director of Janow Podlaski, for choosing Abyad AA for Janow's breeding program and wish him lots of success with this beautiful colt.
Abyad AA is following the hoofprints of Laheeb and Al Maraam, being the third horse from our breeding program to be used at the Polish state farms.

We are extremely happy to inform that the Ansata Sinan look-alike son, Nader Al Jamal, will be back at Ariela Arabians for one more year.
Since Nader left us early last year, he has been standing at Frank Sponle's farm in Germany, busy covering some of the world's best mares, so his 2010 foal crop in Europe should be extremely exciting! During Nader's earlier stay at Ariela, he produced some top quality foals for our stud, and for many breeders here in our country. But we always felt that the time Nader spend here was much too short, so we did all we could to get him back. After long, long discussions, we finally managed to get Nader's owners to consent to let him return to Israel at the end of February 2010.

We wish to thank Nader's owners, Capstone Arabians and Tourbillion Arabians, for letting us bring Nader back to Israel, and a special thank you to Mr. Joseph Polo, for without him, none of this would have happened.
