Ariela Arabians would like to take this opportunity to wish all our friends and clients around the world a warm season's greetings and happy holidays. We hope that the year 2010 will be a wonderful year for one and all.

We are much saddened to share the information that yesterday we lost the 'Queen Mother' of our farm, our beloved Maar Bilahh (El Halimaar x Bint Nabilahh by Morafic), who was 25 years old. Maar Bilahh was one of those "once in a lifetime" mares -- she had it all, and was both a multi-champion show mare and a wonderful mother. Her most outstanding feature was her incredible loving personality, combined with the biggest, blackest, most liquid eyes that one can imagine; the kind of eyes that you can just look into forever. The loss of Maar Bilahh feels like the end of an era, but her star will keep shining and her legacy will carry on through her many descendants.

During the 29th Israeli National Championship Show, out homebred stallion Laheeb (Imperial Imdal x AK Latifa) was awarded with the very prestigious WAHO Trophy. This exclusive award is given every year to horses who have earned special life achievements; each WAHO member country awards one to a horse bred in its country. WAHO has requested that each country's awards committee should look for an Arabian horse which has itself in some way been an excellent “ambassador” for the breed, and we are very proud that our Laheeb is seen in such a way.
Mr. Micha Regev, the Chairman of the Israel Arab Horse Society, presented the trophy to Laheeb, together with Mr. Marek Trela and Mr. Raymond Mazzei; two gentlemen who have had important roles in Laheeb's achievements.

It's time to say goodbye. After being in Israel for two and a half years it's time to let Nader Al Jamal move on to his next destination, the Frank Sponle Training Stables in Germany.
We wish to thank Nader's owners Brock Livingston from Capstone Arabians and Heidi Dunniway for letting us have Nader to use in our breeding program, and to Joe Polo for managing this project from start to finish. From the very first foals it became obvious that Nader consistently passes on a consistent look to his get -- his excellent balance, overall quality, and classic type is reflected in all of his foals. Our clients have used him on a variety of bloodlines with excellent results overall, and we are especially pleased with the foals that Nader has sired at Ariela. From the foals already on the ground and the large number of mares bred to him this year, there is little doubt that Nader will make an important lasting contribution both to our own program and to the entire Israeli herd.
